Dear
all,

 

The issue of early
school leavers is one of the priorities of the EU “Education and
Training 2010” work program
. On the occasion of the 32nd
Colloquium, effe
,
the European Forum for Freedom in Education
will give the floor to the players in the education sector on this
topic at a meeting called "From early childhood curiosity to early
school leaving” held from May 13 to 15 in
Brussels.

 

Among the guests
of honour at the Colloquium: M
r. Jan Figel, European Commissioner
for Education, Training
, Youth and Culture; Mrs. Katerina Batzeli, chairwoman of the
Committee on Culture and Education of the European Parliament and Mr. Mirko
Zorman, chairman of the Education Committee of the Council of Ministers (On the
15th of may, the European Parliament – PHS 4 BOO1, 11h to 13h).

 

In addition to
representatives of the EU, the colloquium will present a range of good practices
from Belgium, Denmark,
UK,
Germany, Czech Republic and last but not least, Royston Maldoom, known
from the very famous film “Rhythm is it!”
will talk on dance as
education, as a way to boost the imagination of the participants in search for
practical solutions to disaffection in school settings.

 

The Colloquium will be held at
Foyer
(25, rue des
Ateliers â€“ 1080
BXL), a socio-cultural
integration centre
of
the City of
Brussels.
Languages used at
the Colloquium
: German and
English.

 

The
European Forum for Freedom in Education – effe
– is a
NGO in the field of education, a forum in which all current issues concerning
education at primary and secondary level can be discussed. The vision inspiring
the work of the European Forum for Freedom in Education is that of a
Europe of
peaceful neighbourliness and cultural diversity in and between the single
nations. Forum members are interested and active citizens from the educational
sector –teachers, schools, school-organisations, parents, pupils – but also
from administrative and university life, etc. The effe is member of
EUCIS-LLL, the education platform that unites more than 15 European educational
