30.11.10 MONUSCO rejects the accusations of disrupting telephone signal in Dungu

MONUSCO wishes to make it categorically clear that this information is false and without foundation
Like any other organ within the United Nations system, MONUSCO subscribes to the free flow of
information and so does not have any interest in or reason to obstruct communication flow which is
absolutely necessary for social, political and economic development of the country.
The Mission has consistently stated that it operates an open door policy for journalists to crosscheck their
information, which, unfortunately was not done by the writer of the story.
MONUSCO wishes to reassure the general public of its continued role of protecting the lives of the
population and of consolidating peace in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
