Brussels: third edition of ‘Africalienne’ (David Minor Lunga, Célestin Kasongo, Jonathan Kombe)

Program: Presentation of three dramatic texts by David Ilunga MINOR, Jonathan Celestin and Kasongo Kombi.

Meeting led by Emile Lansman, editor, Israel Tshipamba, artistic director of Le Tarmac des Auteurs (Kinshasa) and Africalia, followed by a drink.

Theatre and Congo: In the last years Le Tarmac des Auteurs developed – with the support of Africalia – a solid foundation for the emergence of a new generation of playwrights. This was achieved by stimulating (young) writers, but also by inviting an impressive array of speakers, qualified to make them aware of the specificities of the writing of theatrical texts, such as content, form, language, etc.

Théâtre Contemporain Congolais contains three plays that are a first step in enriching the Congolese theater repertory. In addition, they are also meant to provide materials to the many theater groups in the country.Obviously the intention is to promote these new pieces far beyond the borders of Congo. Who knows, they will become the key to various creations in the four corners of the Francophonie.

Important: This book is currently only available in French. A Dutch translation is expected in the near future.
