18 07 13 MONUSCO Encourages Rwanda to Work With the E-JVM to Investigate Reported 'Bombings'

MONUSCO encourages the
government of Rwanda to work
through the Expanded Joint Verification mechanism E-JVM – of which Rwanda is a
member – to further investigate the circumstances of this event.

The Expanded Joint
Verification Mechanism (E-JVM) was launched in September 2012 in Goma.

It is a technical
body, comprising military experts from both DRC and Rwanda,
as well as other ICGLR countries and supported by the African Union
and the UN, to address DRC-Rwanda border security issues, amongst other tasks.
