18 07 13 MONUSCO Encourages Rwanda to Work With the E-JVM to Investigate Reported 'Bombings'

Kinshasa — Yesterday government sources in Rwanda, reflected in national and international media, reported on "deliberate bombings" of Rwandan territory that would have originated from the DRC.

MONUSCO, while on high alert in view of the intense fighting triggered by M-23 attacks on FARDC positions, has not fired any weapon on 15 July which is the date these "bombings" would have occurred.

Bundibugyo — With a new emergency under way in the North Kivu province of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, UNHCR and its partners have been rushing to help the tens of thousands of refugees who have fled the violence into western Uganda's Bundibugyo district. The refugees, who began arriving last Thursday, are spread out along the hilly border area, where conditions are tough and getting help to them is difficult.
