29 04 13 EurAc demands Mary Robinson commitment to sustainable peace process in the Great Lakes region
Brussels, 29 April 2013
The European Network for Central Africa (EurAc) and its members have welcomed with enthusiasm the nomination of Mary Robinson as UN Special Representative for the Great Lakes region. EurAc hopes that her political experience will have a high and positive impact on the peace process in the region.

The Department of State warns U.S. citizens of the risks of traveling to the Democratic Republic of the Congo (Congo-Kinshasa) (DRC). The Department strongly recommends you avoid all travel to the city of Goma and the province of North Kivu, and all but essential travel to the province of South Kivu and the Ituri region in the province of Oriental. Because of ongoing instability and violence, the Department's ability to provide consular services to U.S. citizens in these regions of the DRC is extremely limited. This replaces the Travel Warning dated November 21, 2012, to update information on security in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
